Part III, Why Airmen are leaveing the service?????

SCENE-1
(Year-1998, Place- CR& SS Hangar of a Trg Sqn)

The  environment of the hangar is gloomy at first place. Shoulders of Technicians are down. Everybody is busy servicing the Kiran Aircraft like a machine. No 'Josh' only 'Khamoshi' .

Exactly at 1200 hrs , phone of the MWO ic hangar rings. He picks up the phone, says 'Yes Sir' 8-10 times and puts the phone back on cradle by wishing 'Jai Hind' to the person ordering from  the others side . Now he gets up, takes the  white chalk and writes on the hangar board in bold letters- "General Afternoon at 1530 hrs". Since, it is almost daily,s affair, hence  nobody is surprised.  Rather they are happy  as reporting time is delayed by 30 minutes. 

(As per authority, the purpose of daily afternoon is not just to increase the serviceability of Aircraft but  to keep technicians fit and busy.)
 How welfare minded they are!!

SCENE-2
Leave Approval Procedure

If you do not wish to enjoy this  heaven , you can take leave.  It is too easy !!! Your leave application gets approved in  just four simple steps.

 Fill up your leave application and give it to SNCOic section. He will  prepare the leave percentage slip manually. Now take the signature of WOic section on  manual percentage slip  and hand it over to EDP cell for getting 'Computerised Leave Oercentage Slip'.  If you are lucky enough, you may get the said computerised slip same day.If the leave percentage is below 20 percent,   your first step i.e.screening is clear .    Congrats!! You are  officially authorised to process  your leave application.

Now the next step i.e. Pre- starts. Take the signature of WOic in the Leave application and submit it  to STO,s office for his signature. 
STO may take a day or two to sign your leave application and forward it to SE(A)  for  next step i.e. Mains. SE(A) may take another day or two to clear your 'Mains'. 

Now comes the most difficult step of the process i. e . Interview which requires signature of CEngO. But where he will sign ?? There is no column for CEngO,s signature in the leave application ??? Do not worry, where there is will, there is way. CEngO will sign on the computerised leave percentage slip!!! Amused☺️☺️☺️ See how easily your leave application is signed .
 
What more you expect from a welfare minded and hard working  CEngO??? See his dedication,  he signs on  leave application of each and every individual.

Now you are  only left with Leave clearance and Orderly Room  formalities which may take just another week or so.
 So simple!!!! You are cleared to proceed on leave.

Still not done !!! Welfare at its peak for you. If you happen to fail at any step then  there is official solution for everything. 

Suppose, you do not want to follow these simple steps and become AWL . No issue at all. AOC had already authorised  CEngO to trial charges of his staff. Just  report to Tech Adjt. He will offer you to become member of "Golden forest scheme" under CEngO . And if you agree, your leave is regularised . As simple as that. What else you expect from a generous Authority??

I do not know why still people leave the service??

    My second posting was in Srinagar P&S,where the tenure was for 2 years then a choice. First Year went on smoothly under Jha sir, a very mature and friendly Officer. After him the next APM wanted that the boys are under burdened they need to be put on tough assignments. But then our team was hardcore policeman. He told that each police will go on TD to the units under jurisdiction, stay there for a week and then submit observation reports and he use to defame if there is no or average observation. My turn came for Avantipura. It was painsome to carry woolen clothes, but then the more you worry and feel pain the more he was happy.
    I went to Avantipura on investigation duty for a week. I don't have to report to anyone, was my own boss. Two days I totally relaxed myself. Third day I stated my checks from CAdmO section where chances of getting masala was there. Among other things I smelled foul in gas agency where I established the facts that seven to eight gas connection was given to DASI members who had come to check the station months before on priority and without any evidence of initial booking, which they can't. As the investigation went further the staff rushed to CAdmO to apprise that Provost have caught their wrong. He called me and asked the purpos. I informed him that it is a part of my basic duty. He told me that he has spoken to APM in length. Now my APM was waiting for my return. I returned as per my plan and immediately made entry in the observation register and submitted report to him. He told me as why did I make the entry. I told him sir, you always wanted keen observation. I am an IAF/P, I will give you multiple but you should be willing to forward. He got it and duty died it's natural death. I want to ask service when I have been enrolled for prevention and detection of crime as one of the many responsibilities then why I should not work for IAF why should I work for Sqn Ldr C G H Khan of MP Singh.

      In my police career what I have observed is that whenever I went deep into any investigation, I found myself standing against an officer because all the funds are handled by them, discretionary power is vested in them. They keep bunch of loyal airmen who work for them.
      For an airmen at the most you will find not having haircut, name plate, uniform not maintained, these things are not going to damage the Air Force frame. These are personal traits. No financial/ reputational damage to the organisation.
      My view is, if you keep a horse and use him like donkey. Will he feel satisfied carrying weight or will always have the thrust to run in the race course.

    You need not to elaborate your service life to justify your decision to quit .. Self respect is the sole point everyone considered and counted. However I salute air force for the level of confidence induced over these years to face life and perform well....

    I dont know wat i can say but they tbrew me within two years in a psychiatric ward...lost job and respect....and get nothing but a 20 pages crap..
    I see soldiers in a very pathetic state ...alas wat a india..hope for god that next time no birth in india.. A country run by ,for, to, -the fools

Will UP Govt provide bonanza to Veterans on Kargil Victory Day??

Uttar Pradesh is a unique state in many ways!! Apart from being the most populous state of the country, it provides maximum soldiers to the defence forces . But see the irony!! Small states like Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh , Uttarakhand and Karnatak provide reservation to Ex Servicemen of their states in Group A and B posts but Uttar pradesh Government does not do so. Before 1999 , there was reservation in Group A and B posts for Ex Servicemen in Uttar Pradesh but they started reducing  percentage from 1992 and  in 1999 when other states were felicitating and awarding the Kargil War heroes, UP chose the other way round .  It took 'Ulta decision,  and stopped reservation for Ex Servicemen in Group A and B posts on 27 July 1999 .
