Silver Jubilee of SKAT

 The Silver Jubilee  celebration of The Surya Kiran Aerobic Team!!💐💐💐💐

The Surya kiran Aerobic team also known as SKAT (formerly Formation Aerobatic Team or FAT) which beleives in -

"Excite the ordinary, impress the knowledgeable and frighten no one" celebrates it silver jubilee .  The team was formed on  27 May 1996 at Air Force Station Bidar  as part of 52 Sqn . It flew it's first formation on 15 Sep 1996 with 06 Kiran MK-2 Aircraft at Air Force Administrative College, Coimbatore. 

 The Surya kiran Aerobic team is the only 09 Aircraft formation team in Asia and among few in the world.  It has performed almost 600 dare devil shows  in and outside India. It was disbanded in the year 2011 because of shortage of Trainee Aircraft. But again resurrected in the year  2015  with Advance Jet Trainer Hawk Aircraft. Now  this team  performs its hair raising maneuvers with  09 Hawk and 04 Helicopters of Sarang Team, a unique formation in many ways.

The motto of the The Surya Kiran Aerobic Team is " Always the best".

 I was lucky one  to have  worked  with this wonderful team as ground crew for  almost two years at Air Force Station Bidar.

A great achievement for an Air Warrior!!! Sgt Suresh Kashyap (Retd), two times MLA and sitting MP from Shimla Lok Sabha Constituency is appointed as Himachal Pradesh BJP Chief. I congratulate him on behalf of all Air  Warriors. Last time when we met him in a Banquet Hall of Parliament House, we apprised him about the problems faced by serving and retired Airmen like- improper working environment in IAF for airmen, decreasing respect for senior airmen ranks,  uncertainty in resettlement  of ex servicemen , Reservation in Group A and B posts  of Central and State Government Services , OROP and  ante date seniority in allotment of Government quarters for  re employed ex servicemen  That time , Sir assured us that he will take this matter to higher authorities. Will UP Govt provide bonanza to Veterans on Kargil Victory Day??

Uttar Pradesh is a unique state in many ways!! Apart from being the most populous state of the country, it provides maximum soldiers to the defence forces . But see the irony!! Small states like Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh , Uttarakhand and Karnatak provide reservation to Ex Servicemen of their states in Group A and B posts but Uttar pradesh Government does not do so. Before 1999 , there was reservation in Group A and B posts for Ex Servicemen in Uttar Pradesh but they started reducing  percentage from 1992 and  in 1999 when other states were felicitating and awarding the Kargil War heroes, UP chose the other way round .  It took 'Ulta decision,  and stopped reservation for Ex Servicemen in Group A and B posts on 27 July 1999 .
